Missing my dear girl friends, I took a day off from work and met up with meng and shing.

We had a lot of fun just listening to meng's bali stories; how her finger almost died a few times while she was fish sailing, rafting with the funny old bali instructor and her gulping mouthful of seawater cause she was too lazy to spit them out. HAHA.

Though it meant to be a shopping day, we didn't spend a lot. meng and I got a pullover for $20 each and i got a pair of topshop flats that were originally at $89 at $23!! (but i swear they're not functional. they cut everywhere!!)

this was like after my 3rd try? HAHA

we all love this shot. so pretty!

omg check out shing's endless legs! and the heels are how high la!
how I wish we didn't have to work and just do this all day...

I'm caught in a sneezing frenzy today and can't stop sneezing. So while i was grabbing clothes to shower, i sneezed and bumped my head against the cupboard door. Now i have a bruise on my forehead. Freaking painful!

I bet you guys are laughing at me. HAHAHA

are you singaporean?

Recently I have been asked this question quite a bit - Are you Singaporean?

The last time I went out with Gina's friends, one of them asked if I was Korean. She says I look like Jang Nara. zomg. I don't like her at all.

Was early for vocal lessons yesterday and spotted a Korean mart at chinatown plaza (can you imagine such an ulu place have a mart?) to help me pass time. I entered quietly and smiled to the 2 lady staff. Walked around a few times and finally went to pay. The lady totaled up the snacks i grabbed and said "sib ku, ii sib". I totally don't know if that's how you pronounce $19.20 but at that moment I did understand her. After handing her $20 she asked in Korean if I was Korean. I also understood her and replied no in english then in korean. They were so surprised that I wasn't Korean. The other lady even said she was guessing I was either Korean or Japanese. She also said that my dressing was also somewhat similar to Korean's fashion so she had thought I was one.

Later that night Gina's friend came to meet her for karaoke and he said I was from China. Well my ancestors did so maybe. HAHA!

I told my mum on the way home and she commented that people often mistook my dad for Japanese. And my brother did look like a Japanese when he was younger than 6. I guess that's where my Japanese looks come from huh. But the Korean looks... maybe too much Korean dramas and songs. HAHA.

bittersweet

Took a day off and met meng at bbdc to take our FTT. Fianlly we got to sit for the test but now we've to wait till 12 August to take our practical test. Looks like we can't drive you around when you return fran. HAHA.

After that we headed to West Mall and had a nice lunch at Pasta Mania. Well i didn't really enjoy my spaghetti cause it was too creamy for me. The wonderful company made up for it though (:

We reached ccab just as the rugby match started. The match was really exciting. AC was leading in the first half. There were a couple of funny incidents during the match. The captain (if i didn't regconise wrongly) was bringing a SA boy down when he pulled the SA boy's shirt over his head. Another was azmi punching the ball out of a SA player's grip when the players were on top of each other as one big mess. HAHA. At halftime, the AC was leading by 1 point!

During the second half, the scoreline was so close. But seems like lady luck hadn't been on the ruggers side. Jonah accidentally rammed into a SA player in the last 10 mins of the match which injured the boy and he was given a yellow card, sending him off the field. The minute he was given the card, he started crying. That gave SA a penalty. Missing by 8 points, our ruggers lost to SA, 11-19. They were really upset and a few of them cried. They were so close to winning and had played their all in the match, bringing every SA player down and getting the ball back everytime their opponent got it. The AC ruggers really gave their best.

That was really sad but I thought it was a bittersweet feeling.
Knowing that you have given your best during the match is what that really mattered most, be it win or lose.

Dance class at night was really fun. We didn't learn any dance steps but learnt a few exercises that focused on coordinating the left and right brain. My arms started to ache after those arm raising exercises and my abs hurt from doing so many crunches. Looking forward to the next lesson! (:

$20 per hour is really good money. So i dragged myself out of bed on saturday morning at 6 am to head to school to be an invigilator for SATs. But i ended up snoozing till 645 and had to cab to school by 715. HAHA.

When i reached the MPH, there were hoards of people who were mostly from China. The funny thing was, they were there to sit for SATs but they couldn't least understand the simplest english. I remember asking a girl what was her seat number and she just returned me question with a lost expression. What's more they could not understand the meaning of "sit at your allocated seat number" which lead to a whole lot of confusion when we checked their ID during the paper.

During the check, we got quite a surprise. There was this person that lead to a lot of speculations as to whether he was a boy or she was a girl. With the voice of a lady and a face of a 30 year old aunty, we had assumed he was a lady. But no. That was a guy! We were quite shocked even after checking his passport 3 times. HAHA.

The paper had 10 sections and lasted from 830 to 130 in the afternoon. Each section was about 25 mins long and had about 5 mins break between or the occassional 10 mins. We couldn't understand why all 10 sections were in the same booklet as that allowed the chance of cheating by going to the next section when one is done with the allowed section or go back to finish up the incompleted section.

Since the paper was so long and the invigilators would have died without any food, Mr Rama (my pw teacher back in AC days) took Gina and I out to have brunch at Dover Market. While we were walking towards his car, he received a call that there was a sick lady at the badminton hall that had to be attended to. So he left us chatting outside the dance room and watching the ruggers train. Later when he returned, he told us the lady wasn't sick. She was crying cause she had an appointment with her gynacologist at 12 and she wanted to complete her SATs earlier. I thought that was really funny.

After ending at about 2pm, Gina and I was suppose to meet Joyce at Party World at 3 but she had some last minute church stuff so we hung around jurong point for hours. As we stood near the escalator to decide where had good ice cream, an ang moh approached us and started going on for forever about something he wanted to show us and that we were to promise not to scream. We just stared at each other while he went on and he just held Gina's hand and lead her to their promotion counter. He said "I'll show you somthing but promise not to scream ok?" Then he started buffing Gina's finger nails and it became really shiny. Apparently that was what we weren't suppose to scream about. After which he introduced us to some manicure set and lotion. Of course we weren't gonna buy so Gina cooked up some story that she had to ask her financial assistance aka her boyfriend. That instant, the guy whipped out his phone and asked her for the number to contact her boyfriend! When we refuse to give it to him, he just pressed us by pushing the price lower and lower saying that the product was originally $100+ and now he's willing to sell it at a special price of $50. We still left without buying and everytime we were near the counter, we tried avoiding it as much as possible. HAHA.

Gina's aunt called and asked to have dinner with her and i joined them at Sakae. Her aunt's really funny, speaking in hokkien most of the time. Thank goodness i understood her or else i'll be so bored during the meal. Joyce finally came and we headed to Party World starting our 5 hour singing session. Joyce can totally sing. Her voice is really nice and sweet too. She left around 11 while i stayed till the session ended. Nearer the end, Gina and I had no more energy to sing so we just hummed or turned the audio on and sang along.

Sounded like a busy saturday but it was really fun and satisfying (:
