omg. i seriously hate prom prep. it sucks. i've 2 dresses and i cant choose either! plus the more i look at them the uglier they become and the more i regret getting both. roar.both give diff style/feeling so i really cant decide. the sophisticated-smart-and-not-so-prom-looking dress or the ok-looks-suitable-for-prom-but-becoming-princessy-looking dress. i dunno :(
sucks to be a girl sometimes but then guys look generic like reuben said so i'm happy to be a girl but hate the choosing part of me. haha.
now i need to decide if i wanna get new heels that i saw or go with the old one tat's kinda falling apart at the back. the outer layer is falling off at the back. but it isn't too obvious i'd say. the one i saw is 4 inches high and might cause me to fall after walking less than 100m. it's really nice and i like it. plus u dont get such high, comfortable and nice shoes for only 30. there was 2 other girls trying on the same pair. haha. it shows how popular it is!! if i get it i think i'll only wear it to functions and never to shop or club cause tat'll be the stupidest thing to do; killing my feet. the sales lady was really rude. she snatched the shoe away from me and threw it into the box when i told her i'll have to think bout it. so rude!! i'd actually buy it without second thought if i had money with me and maybe regret later.. psssh.
FINALLY!! we managed to get enough slots for our makeup. i was so annoyed cause every shiseido counter was fully booked. and we din't really wanna pay or go to sasa. so yea. haha. now it's the hair. to go get it done or try doing it yourself. i kinda figured how the lady did it for me during yest's trial and i definitely dont want to pay another 35 for her to do it again. at most i'll straighten/curl it and then just clip it up. bleah...
clubbing was fun. my mum called 5 times though she's overseas. didn't exactly tell her where i went just said i went partying. haha. naughty me. saw a few familiar faces. shu and joyce cldn't take it after 1 hr inside. we were so poor thing cause we got squished in the corner that was only bout 2.5 x 1m. or maybe less than tat. it was so crammed at phuture that we were dancing next to the wall and a table. haha. shant complain though. a fight nearly broke out just beside us. dont know the reason. it kinda freaked me out cause i din't expect it. haha. i hope post prom wldn't be this bad. but first i've to overcome the prom prep first. roar.

my parents are away on a shanghai trip so it's only my bro and i left at home. it's a lil difficult cause i've to handle all the household chores and make sure he sleeps and does his sutff. but he's been good these 3 days. i'm happy that he is. and i think he's enjoying himself cause sister allows him to play the computer till midnight. haha. brought him out to watch Enchanted. though we headed out, we had to go to a few places to check/get things for myself. and surprisingly he was ok with it. he didn't complain or turned grumpy from following me ard.though he needs to learn to grow up. i was queueing for popcorn and told him to get my bag and head in first. he took the ticket stubs and sat at the wrong seat!! omg. i panicked and walked up and down the aisles many times. i think ppl thought i was the one who's lost. i even walked out of the theatre to check if i entered the right hall and even thought of asking the staff to help me search for him in other theatres. turned out he sat at the row next to our correct seats. i felt like screaming at him for being so blur!! it was quite embarassing walking up and down the asiles. plus i walked past him close to 5 times and he didn't even see me. and neither did i. sigh such a blur kid. and i dunno when this will stop.
Enchanted on the whole is an ok movie in my opinion. it wasn't as exciting as stardust. maybe due to the clash of reality and fairytales. i mean we know such things will never exist. so yea. the songs are nice though esp the one at the park. i think it's called how does she know. it totally cracked me up. later we walked to ps to get something and had pasta mania. i met mrs saw and her daughters there. she's so cute. i miss having lessons and school. i dont get to see my friends as much now :( she said i lost weight. i dont think so though. i look the same. my mum actually said the same thing. exam stress i think. haha. if i dont start exercising, i think i'll just grow fatter. haha.
i bought 2 dresses for prom. both 90 but the 2nd one had to be altered. cause i din't think the first one's suitable for my age and prom. it's too casual to me. oh well. but 2nd one's a lil short and if i wear heels it'll be shorter!! i dont really like to show so much of my legs and i'm serious. it makes me so self-concious. plus my scars on the back wont help when i'm wearing a spag. i'm thinking of getting dermablend. but i dont know if it'll reach me on time..roar. i really dont like prom. bleah.

DADDY'S EMPTY CHAIRA man's daughter had asked the local minister to come
and pray with her father.
When the minister arrived, he found the man lying in
bed with his head propped up on two pillows.
An empty chair sat beside his bed
The minister assumed that the old fellow had been
informed of his visit.
"I guess you were expecting me, he said.
'No, who are you?" said the father.
The minister told him his name and then remarked,
"I saw the empty chair and I figured you knew I was going to show up,"
"Oh yeah, the chair," said the bedridden man.
"Would you mind closing the door?"
Puzzled, the minister shut the door.
"I have nev er told anyone this, not even my daughter," said the man.
"But all of my life I have never known how to pray
At church I used to hear the pastor talk about prayer,
but it went right over my head."
I abandoned any attempt at prayer," the old man continued,
"until one day four years ago, my best friend said to me,
"Johnny, prayer is just a simple matter of having a conversation with Jesus.
Here is what I suggest.
"Sit down in a chair;
place an empty chair in front of you,
and in faith see Jesus on the chair.
It's not spooky because he promised,
'I will be with you always'.
"Then just speak to him in the same way
you're doing with me right now."
"So, I tried it and I've liked it so much that I do it
a couple of hours every day.
I'm careful though
If my daughter saw me talking to an empty chair,
she'd either have a nervous breakdown
or send! me off to the funny farm."
The minister was deeply moved by the story
and encouraged the old man to continue on the journey.
Then he prayed with him, anointed him with oil, and returned to the church.
Two nights later the daughter called to tell the minister that her daddy had died that afternoon.
Did he die in peace?" he asked.
Yes, when I left the house about two o'clock,
he called me over to his bedside, told me he loved me
and kissed me on the cheek.
When I got back from the store an hour later, I found him dead.
But there was something strange about his death.
Apparently, just before Daddy died,
he leaned over and rested his head on the chair beside the bed.
What do you make of that?"
The minister wiped a tear from his eye and said,
"I wish we could all go like that."
Just send this to four people or more,
and do not break this, please.
Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.
I asked God for water,
He gave me an ocean.*
I as ked God for a flower,
He gave me a garden.*
I asked God for a friend,
He gave me all of YOU...
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.
Happy moments, praise God.
Difficult moments, seek God.
Quiet moments, worship God
Painful moments, trust God.
Every moment, thank God.

cause shing said so i better do it. haha.today was the last day of A levels! not exactly for me but majority of the gang. so we decided to head to the long missed orchard road while gina had to remain in sch for her history paper. poor girl.
we took a long bus ride down to ps and had lunch. eating never felt so much more peaceful and slower paced than it was during the mugging period. eating was an absolute waste of time at that moment cause we all just wanna stuff our brains full with knowledge than feed our stomachs. when we reached the food court, we saw a table that had 4 packets of tissue on it. and that got us so amused. ppl actually do use tissue to reserve seats in public places. i've never actually seen something like that happening but just being at ps food court for less than and hour, we saw 2 such incidents. singaporeans are just lazy. why cant they get someone to sit at the table while the rest help her buy or she'll buy her food later when the rest returns. either way you'll get food. i'll post the picture up soon.
after that we had 3 hours to wait for gina's arrival. so we counted down and wasted time by walking into almost every single shopping centre we passed on our way from ps to far east. it was really fun cause we managed to see quite a bit of stuff and realised some changes that happened during our absence in town. the 2nd level of the annex at heeren's like a ghost town now. wat exactly happened to it??
time check. still 2 more hours and gina shld be on her essay by now. let's continue walking.
on the way we talked geog and econs. everything had a link to these subjects we studied. smokers are a source of negative externalities that causes market failure. we as 3rd parties are not compensated for it. as we are walk across unsheltered roads, the rain drops in falling to the ground as throughfall. however due to urbanisation there is a large surface runoff due to concrete land surfaces.. and that was how our convos were majority of the time. i think ppl in orchard must have thought we're mad as we were exclaiming loudly NEGATIVE EXTERNALITIES and then start fanning the stench of 2nd hand smoke. an incident that was really funny was as we crossed the area in front of the istana, a lady in front of us lit her cigarette and puffed away. the 4 of us immediately fanned furiously. negative externalities indeed.
reaching far east, lydia went to cut her hair. she went in alone while the 3 of us pondered outside. finally i decided to cut my hair cause i cldn't stand my fringe any longer. it's so long and it's irritating. so chop chop chop, my fringe was done. i looked at the mirror and wasn't happy with it at all. not that it's short or anything, it just made me look like a guy!! then the lady boss suggested i cut the rest of the hair too. i thought for quite a while then decided i shld just do it since i hated the fringe being itself. she got quite annoyed with me and started to speak cantonese thinking i as a canton cant speak cantonese too. hmmm.. my hair's like 3 inches shorter and i've bangs that will make me look cheena piang if they cover my whole forehead. i still hate bangs. i really regretted cutting my hair now. it'll be a lil short for styling. roar. lyd got her hair styled for free as the staff had offer. the curls made her look much more matured. totally unlike that crazy screaming girl. she didn't like it either so we went into the toilet and she tied up her hair cause she felt bad for doing it in front of the shop which may make the staff sad. haha. we just continue roaming till gina called.
FINALLY SHE CALLED! so we headed to cine and met her. i was really surprised when i saw the Korean BBQ restaurant in cine. i know it's a big thing in Korea where DBSK was endorsed. i always thought it's like ordinary kfc chicken but no. the chicken's really nice. the taste is much more different from the normal lousy kfc. there's a sauce tat tastes like sweet and sour. and the chicken's still crispy. really nice. ppl shld try it. and they were playing DBSK's 2nd showcase. brought back memories. haha.
got tics to watch startdust. omg it's a really nice movie! the makeup artist for michelle pfeiffer is awesome. she's so pretty though she's quite old alrdy. one of the nicer shows i've watched and want to watch more. when it was over it was bout 10pm and we all headed home. i needed rest desperately. though i was still awake and all my head started to hurt. sleeping only 1 hr and lasting for 40hrs is no joke. and i swear by red bull. 1 can was enough to keep me awake and mug for human geog. 11pm felt like 8 pm to me. haha. weird but yea. and i'm never gonna not slp for 40 hrs again. it's insane. it affects my next few day's mood.
ps: this post's like narrating. and i'm too lazy to change it. heh (:

does evil exist?one day, a professor of a university decided to defy his pupils.
he asked: " did God create everything that exists?" a student answered bravely: "yes, He did."
" everything?" asked the teacher. "Yes, everything." was the student's answer.
"in this case, God also created evil, correct? because evil exists" said the teacher. to that, the student had no answer and remained silent. the teacher was delighted at the opportunity to prove one more time that faith was only a myth.
suddenly, another student raised his hand and asked: "may i ask you a question professor?"
"of course" was the answer.
"does cold exist sir?"
"of course. did you never feel cold?"
"actually sir, cold doesn't exist. according to studies in physics, cold is the total and complete absence of heat. an object can only be studied if it has and transmits energy and it is the heat of an object that transmits it's energy. without heat, the objects are inert, incapable to react. but cold doesn't exist. we created the term cold to explain the lack of heat."
"and darkness?" continued the student.
"it exists." replied the professor.
" you're wrong again sir. darkness is the total absence of light. you can study light and brightness, but not darkness. the prism of Nicholas shows the variety of different colours in which the light can be decomposed according to the longitude of the waves. darkness is the term we created to explain the total absence of light."
and finally the student asked: " and evil? does it exist sir?"
"God did not create evil. evil is the absence of God in people's hearts, it is the absence of love, humanity and faith. love and faith are like heart and light. they exist. their absence leads to evil."
and now it's the professor's turn to remain silent.

i'm actually relieved that phy geog's over. cause studying geog made me go crazy. u can ask meng wat i told her after reading mass movt notes. i drank 2/3 of a red bull. it works but how i wished that the geog notes cld just diffuse into my brain instead. i was struggling to at least run through everything once. be it skimming or memorising. but we know last minute stuff never work. i wanted to cry when the clock struck 1pm. worse when i reached school. i cld feel my heart racing till i cldn't talk right. meng and fran looked so nervous reading which made it worst. cause they're always smarter than me and scoring better in everything. like their not so good is my very good kinda thing. so yea. haha.i had notes strewn all over my table bed chairs. my mum was looking at my room and she shook her head. i was told to have my breakfast a few times which ended up as my lunch instead. well like lyd said, everything but reading geog was a waste of time. eating was a waste of time, bathing was a waste of time, sleeping too to a certain extent. heh.
well i'm really thankful cause the stuff i studied came out and those that i kinda didn't touch like atmo, didn't come out. but wat the heck is fluvial erosion?? i came out twice! the atmo drq was like common sense to a horribly large extent that i think if anyone never studied geog cld do. haha. i was so scared that things like adiabatic laspe rate, hadley cells and cyclones wld come out.
but then i think if i had a lil more time, like one more day to study, i cld write without problems. i cldn't do a full 8 marks qs, and my catchment management was just based on prelim knowledge. i didn't even know it was aswan dam :x i guess that's the same for everyone so yea. well sitting beside guoxi who's furiously writing without even looking up more than 2 times to check the clock is freaky knowing how high he scores all the time.
looks like i'm planting my info on my blog so i can have space to put in stats. grr. one more day and my whole wk wld be much better. and my mum wldn't have to exclaim NOT EATING DINNER WITH US AGAIN!? heh. a few more days to go! (: bye bye physical geog. hello math.
